Rumours and rounds about the next version of Samsung’s budget smartphone Galaxy J1 have been popping up for the last week or so.Now two versions of these smartphones have been listed on the Philippines and Russia web site of Samsung with no details about availability or cost.
Samsung Galaxy J1 2016 Specifications
The Galaxy J1 (2016) packages in a 4.5-inch WVGA Super AMOLED screen sporting a resolution of 800*480 pixels.Cameras comprise an LED flash on the rear and a 5MP unit with autofocus while the front-facing unit is a 2MP one. The double SIM handset packs in 2050mAh battery and supports 3G bands or 4G depending in the marketplace; and will be obtainable in gold, black and white.
Samsung Galaxy J1 (2016) Mini
The Samsung Galaxy J1 miniature packs in a 4-inch TFT LCD screen using a resolution of 800*480 pixels. Hiding behind that’s a 1.2GHz quad-core processor coupled with 768MB of RAM. The details about the make of the central processing unit haven’t been shown although Samsung’s own exynos is pretty much the likely candidate. The handset packages in 8GB of built in storage and supports microSD cards of up to 128GB in capacity.
Coming to the connectivity choices, we get the regular Wifi, Bluetooth, GPS and 4G or 3G determined by the marketplace (Russian handset comes with 4G) for both the devices.Powering all that is a removable 1500mAh battery that’s rated to provide up to 8 hours of 3G voice talktime. The handset will be obtainable in black and golden colours and weighs in at 120 grams.
Samsung had unveiled its much-talked-about Galaxy J1 smartphone last year in February for the Indian marketplace.The J1 sports a 4.3-inch WVGA PLS screen and runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS. There’s absolutely no word on whether it’s upgradeable to Android Lollipop.
