By Meg Lupton
Grande Prairie

For the first time in Grande Prairie, the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation is holding a Batting Against Breast Cancer Slo-Pitch tournament.

Their fundraising goal is set at 30 thousand dollars, and organizers are confident they'll get there.

Registration is closed for this year says Kara Wozniak, Development Officer with the CBCF, but that doesn't mean you can't come and enjoy the day.

"People are definitely welcome to come down and check everything out. There's going to be concession and a beer garden and lots of prizing and a 50/50 [draw], so it should be good fun for everyone."

She adds that they'll also have prizes for the top fundraisers and the winner of the tournaments.

The tournament goes on Saturday.
