Mighty Peace Watershed Planning Fall Open Houses

Planning for a series of open houses this fall was the main focus of a two day strategic planning session held last week by the Mighty Peace Watershed Alliance.

Alliance member and Grande Prairie city councillor Dan Wong says the group plans to hold up to 20 meetings in communities along the Peace River, to gather input from residents about what they would like to see happen along the river.

"One of the things we discussed was first of all, how we are going to accomplish that, and how much board participation is required.  We felt that it makes sens to have at least 3-4 board members at each one of those open houses."

Wong says it is important that they not only get out to all towns and communities along the Peace River basin, but that they also speak with all first nations and metis settlements.
