The final version of Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary Update has just shipped by Microsoft. And now the company has also rolled out a new cumulative update for insiders that are enrolled in the fast and slow rings.
The important thing to note is that retail users can’t get Windows 10 build 14393.82, because of non-availability to them, while only those can get who have registered their devices to receive preview builds for both PCs and mobile devices. By the given fact, that this build is shipped as a cumulative update, great are the chances the focus will be on bug fixes and performance improvements because there’s no changelog just yet.
How has been the Feedback?
The new version has provided mixed results on devices from the feedback sent by those who have already installed Windows 10 build 14393.82.
Let’s take the instance that there are users who claim that their phones are faster after installation of .82, while according to others’ believe, the Anniversary Update (version .67) has been better in actual terms. Meanwhile, the complaint was made by a few Windows 10 Mobile users regarding their phones getting hotter after installation of this version, so it will still be required to Microsoft to fix a few more thing before any rolling out especially to retail users.
But, it is still astonishing for many that how only the Release Preview ring received this update, it’s because both the fast and the slow rings are already ready for RS2, as devices have already been configured to receive Redstone 2 builds.
In the days or week ahead, Microsoft appears to promise the shipping of Redstone 2 preview builds to mobile devices just at the time when the Anniversary Update will go live for retail users. The first Windows 10 Redstone 2 build has already launched for PC users and the next version has the possibility to land for desktops and smartphones simultaneously.
So, if you are enrolled in the Release Preview ring, you can download this new build through the typical phone update system in Settings > Update & security > Phone update > Check for updates.
