Now live for PC and mobile devices: The Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary Update release date

An integrated Anniversary Update release for Windows 10 platform has just been rolled out by Microsoft. So, now you can get it because the update is live in both its desktop and mobile versions.

An announcement was made on the Windows blog, which confirmed that a new build for the Insider Preview version of Windows 10 has been rolled out. And now what appears to be interesting is that the new update also released to the Windows 10 Mobile platform. This rolled out marks the first build update for the mobile platform, from the time the Windows 10 Anniversary Update released.

Further improvements are made with this new build particularly to the Windows 10 Mobile platform. And addition to in-line options to missed call notifications; lock screen freeze fix; and a known issue with the music app player, are also fixed in the new update.

Though a new build for the mobile platform is included in the new Windows 10 Anniversary update but even after the launch of the update, some recognized issues are still there which Microsoft has listed. It is reported that apps which are moved to SD or others, will still remain in pending condition. However, the text-to-speech option for Cortana, which is one major feature for the Windows 10 platform, has turned defunct due to the update.

Apart from these recognized issues with the mobile platform, an extended issue with the main Windows 10 firmware is also being reported after the update. The new update build strongly breaks third-party webcams, even if the users have logged on using Microsoft’s own Skype video features. It is also reported that the issue has been remained widespread across all third-party webcams such as Logitech, which is a well-known brand, stated the Verge.

The issue has been acknowledged by Microsoft, saying that they have seen a small number of reports of unexpected behaviours following the Windows 10 Anniversary Update,— Engineering and customer support are investigating these on a case by case basis and offering troubleshooting tips as necessary,” as the tech giant hinted that more fix updates may soon be roll out.
