Microsoft has released the Anniversary Update for Windows 10 Mobile Devices

Microsoft launched the Windows 10 Anniversary Update for PCs about two weeks ago and now it has also rolled out the same update for Mobile devices.

For using the ‘release to manufacturing’ i.e. the RTM version, one needs to grab the final build 14393.67 that is the final build of the Anniversary Update on mobile phones.

The company is not going to make a separate announcement for the mobile release and has only confirmed its launch yet. Thus, the Anniversary Update may be released sooner or later as it depends on the carrier and region of use of one’s mobile device. The devices bound to carrier limitations may have to wait a bit long while the unlocked mobile devices would be getting the updates immediately.

Today, Microsoft declared in its report, “The Windows 10 Anniversary Update has begun rolling out for Windows 10 Mobile. The Anniversary Update includes additional features and improvements for your Windows 10 phone.”

“To manually check for the update, on Start, swipe over to the All apps list, then select Settings > Update & security > Phone update > Check for updates. Note that availability may vary by manufacturer, model, country or region, mobile operator or service provider, hardware limitations and other factors.”

Is it worth to get the 14393.67 RTM build for mobile devices??

As far as features of the mobile Anniversary Update are concerned they are not as rich as the one released for PCs. However, the mobile update still comes with some worthy improvements such as enhanced notifications and Action Center, support for touch gesture navigation, besides updated apps to let the users have much better experience with their phones.

Those insiders who have already got the 14393.67 build on their phones will not see anything new because their devices are already using the RTM versions. However, it is also reported that the company is rolling out a cumulative update to the Preview release thus some extra improvements would also be available.

The users from the Windows Insider Program reported some bugs present in the 14393.67 RTM build even after the update. Due to these reasons, the performance of this new build is doubtful. But as soon as more customers get it installed, its performance would be made clearer. Thus the unknown issues, if present any, would be reported through the feedback channel and it is hoped that the next updates would resolve most of them.
