The Grande Prairie Hindu Association is inviting everyone to join them for a special ground breaking ceremony tonight, to launch construction of a Canadian Hindu Cultural Centre.
The 14 hundred square foot building is being built about 4 km east of the city on 68th avenue and township road 712.
Ratna Kali Roy is with the local association.
She says the construction marks a significant milestone for their group.
"When done, it will be northernmost Hindu Temple in Canada. So we are all very excited and can not wait."
Kali Roy adds they hope to have construction completed by mid November.
The ground breaking ceremony takes place at 7 tonight.
