The Art Gallery of Grande Prairie is mapping out a strategic plan to improve sustainability and meet the anticipated growing demand as a result of the restored gallery space in the former high school.

Executive Director and Curator Robert Steven says two-thirds of their funding comes from various levels of government.

"Our financial goals involve building up cash reserves, building up the dollar value of our non-government revenues, and throughout the plans, we talk about how we want to identify a group of comparable institutions so that we can set benchmarks."

Other elements of the strategic plan include increasing the amount of locally created public programming and increasing the number of exhibitions featuring pieces from the permanent collection.
