Final totals are in at the Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer.
They're right about on par with last years total says Nick Locke, Vice President of Development for the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
"We had 1867 riders, and in addition to that we have over 300 people who participate as what we call crew members - they're actually the volunteers that support the riders throught the day. So, over 2000 participants, and between them, they raised over 8 million dollars."
He adds that the atmosphere at the starting line during the Opening Ceremonies this morning was very emotional, with several touching speeches.
The Enbridge Ride will take the cyclists 200 km over the next 36 hours.
