Wayne Drysdale will continue to pound the books this week as he learns his new ministry in advance of next week's opening of the spring sitting of the legislature.

The Grande Prairie-Wapiti MLA was named Infrastructure Minister in premier Alison Redford's first cabinet since winning the April 23rd election.

Drysdale says he is excited to be able to provide a Grande Prairie voice at the cabinet table.

"You heard the premier in the campaign [say] that we need more schools and she's committed to building more schools in this province, and Grande Praire's a growing area that really needs more schools so I think we're in a position to make sure we our share."

One of Drysdale's first tasks will be to follow up on a promise by Premier Alison Redford to have more transparency in infrastructure planning and building.
