Local artist Peter von Tiesenhausen hopes his two week trip to Mazatlan, Mexico will mean more art and culture for the Swan City.

Von Tiesenhausen was sent to Grande Prairie's sister city for an ambassadorial art and culture trip.

He feels the trip means an expanded relationship between the two cities.

"I think it was a wodnerful gesture on behalf of the City of Grande Prairie, to become involved in some other element that isn't sort of just funcitional, like ambulance and fire."

The City spent $5,000 on the project.
