Field work for the Pipestone Creek Dinosaur Initiative is wrapping up, and officials are thinking about fossil security in light of the vandalism incident from earlier this summer.
Project Paleontologist Dr. Phil Bell says they're going to be taking steps to improve safety of the many discoveries here.
"Security will be definitely ramped up in the coming year when we're back out and active again. But right now we're kind of battening down the hatches for the winter."
Back in July, a site of what could've been the fossilized remains of a new species of duck-billed dinosaur was vandalized -- protective wrappings placed over the skeleton were torn away and the bones themselves smashed.
The investigation remains active, but no arrests have been reported.
