City council decided to pull back on a plan to spend over $367,000 on a video conferencing system.

The motion to approve the expense was defeated by a 5-to-4 vote.

Some members of council expressed concern over the cost of the system, wondering if cheaper options weren't available.

Telus was the successful bidder of three companies that made pitches for the job.
