Peace Region residents enrolled in a Canadian university or college this fall are encouraged to apply for a student award through the Community Foundation of Greater Grande Prairie.

Executive Director Tracey Vavrek says those are the main stipulations for applying for one of the 12 awards available.

She says they are made possible by the generosity of some amazing local philanthropists and groups.

"What's really wonderful about our rewards program is that we have different funds that have been established, maybe as a legacy in memory of someone or as the result of a legacy from an event, an example the 2000 Alberta Summer Games."

The application deadline is September 30th.
