The search for contraband at the medium security prison in Grande Cache continues and the penitentiary remains closed to the public.
The lockdown went into effect on Saturday.
Corrections officials don't say what they're looking for, but advise via a media release an "exceptional" search is being done.
All visits to the institution are suspended until the lockdown is lifted.
