NewsGrande Prairie Enforcement Services To Continue Working On Handicapped Parking Awareness
Parking in disabled parking spots without a handicapped placard was the focus of the July BEEP for Grande Prairie Enforcement Services. And even though the 15 tickets handed out for this infraction last month may seem like a small number, Program Manager Chris Manuel says it's enough for them to make the issue a priority year round. "What we tried to do in July here was we just wanted to place an extra public awareness emphasis on the problem, but it's absolutely something we respond to throughout the year." Manuel says members of the public can help them by forwarding information such as licence plate numbers, make, model and car colour of offending vehicles, as well as the date, time and location that the offence took place. And in this age of smart phones, he adds a photo of the illegally parked vehicle doesn't hurt either. iStockphoto image Most Viewed Stories
