A 24 year old Grande Prairie woman was sentenced to 270 days in jail for her role in an altercation in June of last year that sent another woman to hospital with stab wounds.
Jennifer Kennedy was originally charged with attempted murder, but pleaded guilty earlier this year to a charge of aggravated assault.
Following a party outside of the city on June 27th of last year, Kennedy went back into the city to confront a woman who had been at the same party.
A third woman tried to break up the argument, only to be stabbed by Kennedy several times.
Kennedy was given credit for 48 days served prior to sentencing, meaning she will still have over seven months of jail time.
She will also be on probation for two years following her jail term, and cannot own a firearm for 10 years
