NewsWillowview Auctions "Drive-Thru" Set up A Hit
Tuesday, August 21, 2012 - 7:37 PM A local auction market has introduced a new drive through stock unloading system that it feels will not only speed up service, but also be safer for the animals. Ged Willis of Willowview Auctions near Beaverlodge says the new system was needed because many farmers had difficulty backing into delivery chutes. "Now we just drive in like an A & W. Just drive straight into it,[and] unload. And the cattle come off a lot better - pretty well, they can't get away and it's safer for the animals and everything. It's just quick to unload - people don't have to wait in line while there's two or three guys trying to back up half a dozen times." Willis built the new system three weeks ago, and says his customers love it, although many of them didn't know what it was when they first saw it. supplied photo Most Viewed Stories
