Organizers of this year's Scotiabank One Small Step for Prader-Willi Syndrome Walk are hoping to raise five thousand dollars, much like they did during last year's inaugural edition of the walk.

Tammy Renwick is both the event organizer and the mother of a six year old girl with Prader-Willi Syndrome.

She says the genetic disorder causes low muscle tone, delays in fine and gross motor skills, as well as some appetite issues.

"They can't consume the same amount of calories that a normal child their size can without causing extra issues, because they can't matabolize their food.  Also, they have difficulty realizing when they're full."

This year's walk goes Sunday, August 19th at Muskoseepi Park.

To register or for more info, you can call Renwick at 780-532-8187, or go online to www.fpwr.ca.
