Grande Prairie Art Gallery officials expect to throw the doors open -- fully -- in about 10-days.

While the larger galleries in the Montrose Cultural Centre are open, final interior construction work means the other galleries are still closed.

Curator and Executive Director Robert Steven says they were expecting to be completely open to the public before then.

"None of the spaces in the [former] Grande Prairie high school building have been re-opened to the public yet. The Carmen Haakstad and Jim Stokes show is still temporarily interrupted for construction."

The galleries on the "Montrose" side are home to a touring show of Canadian contemporary artist Bill Burns, whose work has been shown at the Institute for Contemporary Art in London, England.

Steven says the show is very kid friendly with lots of elements for children to handle and play with.
