Grande Prairie Stompede has named Harold Matlock as it's 2012 Wagon Master.
Now in his mid 80's, the DeBolt area resident has been involved with rodeo in that area since his teens, while raising a family and running a farm at the same time.
He says he his very honoured to have been recognzied in this way.
"You still find times to do these things, and that's what makes them go. I'm not alone, all of those people have duties at home, but if they want to see it go, you will find them in there."
Matlock says the wagon master duties are all new to him, even though two of his neighbours have been Stompede Wagon Masters in the past.
