The Grande Prairie Centre for Creative Arts will be getting some help to celebrate Alberta Culture Days in the fall.

They're getting five thousand dollars from the Government of Alberta to put on free, family friendly events from the 28th to the 30th of September.

Candace Hook, Executive Director of the Centre for Creative Arts, says with the help of another five thousand dollar grant from the Municipality of Grande Prairie, they'll be able to put on a ton of events throughout that weekend.

"It was a festival grant that we also received for Alberta Culture Days so we are going to be bringing back our wildly popular, wearable art show here at the centre.  And there is also going to be events going on at the Grande Prairie Public Library, at the Art Gallery of Grande Prairie, Grande Prairie Live Theatre, and even at the Art of the Peace Association."

She adds that any local artist can contribute to their Wearable Art Showcase, just get in contact with the Centre for Creatvie Arts at 780-814-6080.

They are one of 64 organizations in 38 communities across the province that will be sharing a 375 thousand dollar grant from the Government to recognize the weekend.
