Representatives with the Salvation Army Food Bank say their shelves are stocked relatively well right now, although they are in need of certain items.
Those include small and medium sized jars of peanut butter, mixed vegetables, and cans of pork and beans.
Donations to the food bank tend to spike upwards near their Christmas appeal and during the annual Rotary Food Bank drive in the fall.
But Major Lucy Pilgrim says local residents are good at donating throughout the year as well.
"This is my first time here in the West and in Grande Prairie, and I'm amazed at the kindness of the people and the amount of their donations."
Major Pilgrim says cash donations are also greatly appreciated, as it allows them to purchase fresh items such as fruits and milk.
