Organizers with the local chapter of the Huntington Society say preparations for the August 'Ride and Run for A Cure' are shaping up nicely.

The original concept had participants on horseback , but chapter president Mack Erno says having runners tackle the trail as well is a new wrinkle that popped up last year.

 "It developed last year we had four guys who approached us last year and wanted to run it and they did! and the raised a substantial amount of money. So between everybody last year we were just over $45,000 we raised last year, so it was great."  

Erno and other reps from the Peace country chapter will be on hand at Saturday's symposium at GPRC.
