Granite Sculptures To Call GPRC Home For Next 12 Months
If you have driven or walked past Grande Prairie Regional College over the last 24 hours, you have likely noticed two new additions to the property.
A pair of seven foot granite sculptures created by Stewart Steinhauer can now be found in front of the college.
Vice President of External Relations Carmen Haakstad says they are proud to be home to the sculptures for the next year.
"You just don't get that type of quality of art of that size of granite sculptures. They are 12 thousand pounds each. So just imagine the logistics of moving of those. So it really is a priviledge to have them."
"Eaglechild" is located on the island near the Douglas J Cardinal theatre, while "Sweetgrass Bear" is located next to the flags in front of the college.
