The wildfire situation in the northern part of the province has improved -- two fires in the Upper Hay district are now listed as 'Being Held'. The fire near La Crete is around 47-hundred acres, while a smaller blaze further north near Indian Cabins is also being held. Closer to home, the hazard remains Very High for this region with warm temperatures and mainly sunny skies in the forcast. ESRD asks weekend recreaters to use caution in the backcountry -- check exhaust systems of quads, bikes and ATVs for debris and make sure any campfires are properly extinguished.
