NewsCity Finalizing Policy for Neighborhood Entrance Signage
City administration is still trying to finalize policy and procedures concerning entrance signs and associated features for new neighbourhoods in the city. Stuart Wraight of the city's planning department says key criteria when the city considers these landmarks is what the developer wants to put up, and if they want to erect it on private or public land. Wraight adds if developers want more elaborate features like waterfalls, lighting, or structures like windmills, then they must be placed on private land and maintained by the landowner or a neighbourhood association. A final draft of the policy will be brought to the Public Works committee during their June 26th meeting. Most Viewed Stories
