The director of the Grande Prairie Public School District's Gifted Student's program says the kids need to all be in one place.

Susan Picard and Sharron Graham gave a presentation at the week's School Board meeting, outlining the possibility of a school within a school for the children at Montrose Junior High.

As head of the gifted program for G-P-P-S-D, Picard says they know it's an ambitious goal, but they want it to be ready as soon as they can.

" We've got a lot to accomplish in a very short time. Our goal is to get it up and running for hte fall 2012, but the first step is to see [if] students and parents [are] interested."

That would be done through advertising of the new program to parents all over the region.

If they get enough interest in the program, they may even be able to get funding for another teacher, which would be a big relief to Picard as she's the only teacher for the program right now.
