Residents of Beaverlodge and the West County will want to circle June 1st on their calendar.

That is the grand opening of the new 11 million dollar Beaverlodge/West County Pool.

Memberships for the facility, which includes competitive and leisure pools as well as a fitness centre and walking track, are now on sale.

Beaverlodge Mayor Leona Hanson says they tried to make the facility affordable for people of all ages.

"People in the community can enjoy it, whether your a family or a senior or a young couple.  So our staff worked very hard to look at the pricing for the facility."

Hanson adds the community has raised over 90 percent of their one million dollar portion of the project, with donations still coming in.
