Members of the city's public works committee had a look at initial concept designs for above ground improvements to Muskoseepi Park entrances at both 102nd avenue and 105th avenue.

The city has budgeted a significant amount of money towards improvements at the park.

But Councilor Helen Rice feels what was proposed is too rustic, and does not strike the right message about our city.

"I have long felt that you can not go out there and sell ourself as a cyber city, that we are a modern, up to date, high tech community, but oh by the way Davy Crockett is our mascot.  It just doesn't sell."

Administration was directed to come back to a future meeting with other alternatives.

Rice likes the idea of looking at entrance signage from 10 different parks, and seeing if any of them strikes a consensus among committee members.
