On Valentine's Day front-line social services workers will be recognized for their efforts in the 7th annual 'Passionate Heart' awards luncheon.

The awards honour people who serve communities through helping youth, families and others either through non-profit organizations or working with Child and Family Services.

Lisa Watson is the Community Supports Supervisor with the City of Grande Prairie: She says it takes special people to do this kind of work and it's great to honour them.

"I think it's appropriate that it's called the Passionate Heart because the majority of people that get into the social services sector in Grande Prairie are very passionate about the work that they're doing and very passionate about helping others in our community." 

You can nominate someone for one of 9 awards in 5 categories.

The information's on the city's website. Deadline for nominations is February 1st -- that's a week today.
