Tuesday, January 5, 2010 - 1:01 AM

The federal government is contributing towards the upgrades taking place at the Coca Cola Center.  The over 2 million dollars in work includes new lighting, bleachers, tempered glass and mechanical system units for the facility, as well as renovations to the front entrance and viewing areas, and energy efficient modifications to the ice plant.  No word as to if the work will be complete in time for the Arctic Winter Games in March.  The feds contribution, in the amount of 652 thousand dollars, comes from their Recreational infrastructure Canada program.
