Construction is underway on the city's second spray park:

The Grande Prairie Elks have made a 25-thousand dollar contribution to the community project.

The spray park is the local Elks' Association's project to mark 100 years of Elks in Canada.

Official ground-breaking took place on August 1st, and Muskoseepi Park operations Manager Laurie Berry says they are excited to be adding this feature for park users.

"The spray park will have about 13 different toys on it.  It is designed for families with small children.  It is located just north of the outdoor pool - you will see some temporary fencing up and some construction.  The site has been excavated."

The spray park is expected to be completed by the end of September, but will not officially open until next spring.

A community barbecue is planned for the afternoon of August 18th at the park to celebrate with the local Elks.
