Today is the first day of the annual City Scrub.
Residents, businesses, schools and community groups are encouraged to take 20 minutes of their time between now and May 13th to pick up litter in their neighbourhoods, especially in parks and green spaces.
Disposable gloves and special "City Scrub" garbage bags can be picked up at several spots across the city, including City Hall, the City Service center, the Farmers Market Food Court, Aquatera, Muskoseepi Park Pavillion, Burger King, Good to Grow, and Tito's Bistro and Cafe.
The bags can then be left out with your regular garbage collection, and will not be counted towards your bag total.
Over five thousand people participated in City Scrub last year.
