ESRD Drops Wildfire Risk In Region To Low

Tuesday, May 22, 2012 - 2:08 PM
By Sara Buchan
Grande Prairie

Fire risk in the region has dropped to 'Low' thanks to the rainfall we're getting today.

Sustainable Resources Development says there've been 33-wildfires in the local forest management area since the season began April 1st.

Across the province there've been 88 new fire starts in the past 24-hours, but the number of active fires across Alberta is down to 18.

While there are no bans in provincial forested areas, some municipalities are maintaining fire bans or advisories.

You can find out more online at www.albertafirebans.ca.
