NewsSpring Repeat? Mounties Investigate Two Convenience Store Robberies
Two convinence store robberies within an hour of each other yearly this morning has police wondering if we'll see a repeat of criminal activity we saw in the spring. In a little over a month starting back on April 1st, there were 6 convenience store robberies in Grande Prairie. No one was hurt in any incident then, and that held true early this morning. The thief showed a knife to the clerk at the Mac's on Resources Road and 76th Avenuearound 3:30 this morning and made off with some cash. An hour later at the Winks in Beaverlodge, he again showed a knife and took cash and lottery tickets. The description in both robberies is of a white man wearing an orange mask and dark sunglasses, a hoodie and grey or green pants, mismatched socks and runnings shoes. He's about 5-foot-10 to 6-feet tall.
