NewsGP Council For Lifelong Learning To Run Full-Time ESL Program
Grande Prairie's Council For Lifelong Learning is teaming up with GPRC to provide full-time English as a Second Language programs. The college shuttered its ESL programing in the spring, but is working with the council to get the needed education to newcomers to the region. Melissa Hunt is the council's Executive Director: She says through working together, the council and the college are making the transition as seamless as possible "Current students shouldn't notice any change in the programming at all we're going to just keep it going status quo as it has been over the past 30-years. They'll just have different faces administering the program." The tuition-funded programs will be taught at the college as GPRC provides the valuable classroom space. Hunt says they've got some funding that can help students who need some financial assistance. The full-time ESL instruction begins July 1st. Most Viewed Stories
