In honor of the International Day Against Homophobia, the H-I-V North Society is having a conversation cafe tomorrow night.

The point is to raise awareness in our community about the issue, and to have some people interact with each other about this year's theme for the day - sexual diversity in the workplace.

Community H-I-V Educator for H-I-V North Jared Gossen, says popular media has a big influence on public perception of the problem.

"I think because of the influence that popular media has on public perception, a lot of people from the Peace Country may not think that homophobia still exsists.  Certainly if you ask individuals who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender or queer, they would probably say that they've experienced homophobic attitudes."

The Conversation Cafe goes tomorrow night at 7 at Jeffrey's across from the Creative Arts Centre.
