The Mighty Peace Watershed Alliance is looking for interested individuals to sit on their board of directors.

The organization is one of a dozen Watershed Alliances across Alberta, but represents more than 30 percent of the total land in the province.

Executive Director Rhonda Clarke-Gauthier says they've accomplished a lot in the year that the Alliance has been in operation.

"In a very short time we've done a fair bit of work in trying to gather information and resources and knowledge about the Peace River Watershed.  We still have a long ways to go, but all of that work is in preparation to then do an official state of the watershed report."

The Mighty Peace Watershed Alliance is also holding a two day board meeting this week here in Grande Prairie.

It runs Wednesday and Thursday at the Quality Inn.

Vacant positions on the board include one for the public at large, and another for the mining sector.
