Alberta Environment and Sustainable Resource Development has upped the wildfire hazard in the region to high.

They've also issued a high wind advisory for the next 24 hours because of gusts of 60 kilometres an hour, so make sure you're checking any burns that you have going to make sure they're completely out.

Burn permits state that you can't burn in winds of over 12 kilometres per hour, with the exception of stubble burning, which can be done in winds of 20 kilometres an hour.

The Smoky Management Area has seen 39 wildfires since the beginning of April, with one fire currently listed as under control.
