The man credited with unearthing the Pachyrhinosaurus Lakustai dinosaur from the banks of the Pipestone Creek now owns a quarter bearing his discovery.

Al Lakusta first discovered the bones back in 1974.

He was quite impressed with the look of the Canada Post issued coin.

"It was exciting to see the Pachyrhinosaurus Lakustai on the coin.  Also the fact that it was a glow in the dark coin, the first of it's kind, is really exciting.  So it just adds another dimension to the whole dinosaur project."

Lakusta is also hopeful that the coin will help spur both fundraising and efforts to get the federal and provincial governments on board to fund the proposed Philip J Currie dinosaur museum near Wembley.
