A memorandum of understanding has been signed by both Grande Prairie Regional College and Calgary's Mount Royal University to explore areas of possible educational collaboration.

GPRC President Don Gnatiuk says the hard work in formalizing that plan will take place over the next few months.

"It's easy to sign these documents, but now the real work starts.  The Deans, the chairs, the faculty have to go into the back room, and make sure the agreements work so that it is seem less for our students.  We want our students to be able to move back and forth as easy as possible, and try to get away from some of the bureaucratic issues that challenge them."

Among some of the opportunities that will be explored are opportunities for block transfer of GPRC diploma graduates to MRU degree programs in business and environmental science, and transfer credit for university studies in English, History and Psychology.
