NewsChuckwagon Heritage Foundation fundraiser this weekend.
Stompede may still be two months away, but the Grande Prairie Chuckwagon Heritage Foundation is busy raising prize money for the final day of racing at this year's event. Their annual Sponsor Appreciation and Fundraiser night takes place Saturday at Five Mile Hall. It includes supper, a dance, silent and live auctions, and special presentations to long time sponsors. The Chuckwagon Heritage Foundation has been around since 2009, and president Justin Tidd is amazed at how much they have grown in that time. "It's all thanks to our sponsors and a lot of hard work from a lot of dedicated people, so. It's something that started fairly small in the VIP section at Stompede that has grown into this. We're able to do the fundraiser and put up so much cash at the Grande Prairie Stompede." Besides putting up Dash for Cash money for both the WPCA and WCA Sunday races at Stompede, the Chuckwagon Heritage Foundation also provides money for races during the Teepee Creek Stampede and the WCA's "Guitars and Wagons" event in Grande Prairie in June.
