Alberta's presence at the Canadian Chamber of Commerce meetings will have a real Grande Prairie flavour: Local businessman Tab Pollock will join the board of directors of the national body to bring some western perspective to the plans for advocacy.
Pollock took over as chair of the Alberta Chambers of Commerce earlier this year, and says he's looking forward to the challenges and opportunities his new role presents.
"And of course it's always nice to have someone from rural Alberta to give our input. I think it's importnat that we have that say on the big board and I'm looking forward to it. I hope to learn a lot from it."
Some of the policies that'll be debated at the annual general meeting this weekend cover issues of taxation and how it affects business, education and training, and resource development.
