A 47-year old city man faces impaired driving charges, and the logging truck he was driving this morning west of town has been impounded under the new provincial penalties.
Around 7:30 this morning, Grande Prairie RCMP were doing speed enforcement on eastbound Highway 43 north of Dimsdale, when a logging truck rear-ended a pickup that'd slowed where Mounties had a car pulled over at Range Road 73.
The pickup wound up in the ditch and the logging truck stopped on the right shoulder.
Police say no one was seriously hurt, but Mounties say the logging truck driver was over .08 blood-alcohol-content.
He's slated to appear in court November 5th.
