Wellness In The Workplace Just The Start
Healthier snacks, more physical activity are all positive changes six Grande Prairie businesses made as part of an Alberta Health Services pilot project.
Workplace Wellness will be expanded to help other organizations. Dietician Danielle Wohlgemuth says they can help people extend those small changes to other aspects of personal health.
"If the staff are interested in education around nutrition, activity, getting some programs going, we can offer lots of 'lunch and learn' sessions,[and] grocery store tours to help both themselves and their families."
Workplace Wellness started in the spring and drew from exisiting resources within AHS.
The businesses that took part reported improved productivity and general "happiness" within the workplace as a result.
