NewsBack to School Tomorrow Means Slowing Down a Bit
Tomorrow marks the first day of school for students in Grande Prairie and surrounding communities. Which means it's time for motorists to adjust their driving behaviours around schools. School zone speed limits of 30 km an hour go back into effect as of tomorrow, and RCMP and Enforcement services officers will be out in full force all week to make sure people remember that. But Corporal Roy Kennedy with the Grande Prairie RCMP says speed is not the only thing they will be keeping an eye on. "You have to remember that the school buses will now be back out there. When you see the stop sign flashing, do not overtake the school bus. You never know when a kid's going to come around the front, and just try to be really cautious out there." Kennedy says they will also be keeping an eye out for aggressive driving behaviours near schools. Most Viewed Stories
