With the first day of school just two weeks away, many of us will be buying school supplies for our kids in the coming days.

The United Way of Grande Prairie hopes as you are doing that, you'll pick up an extra few items for those kids in need.

The annual Tools For School campaign is currently underway.

Executive Director Gladys Blackmore says you can donate at one of three locations. 

"They can make cash donations at Staples at the till, and they can make gift donations at both Staples and Costco. And they can make cash or supplies [drop-offs] at the United Way at Centre 2000."

Blackmore says at the end of the campaign, everything will be divided among the three local school divisions, who will then disperse them to families who otherwise could not afford to buy school supplies
