Even though the wildfire rating in the Smoky Management area has been lowered to moderate, Alberta Environment and Sustainable Resource Development officials are still cautioning residents about very dry conditions near Sneddon Creek and White Mountain.

The wildfire rating in those areas are Very high to Extreme.

ESRD has stationed crews throughout the region, and do aerial patrols on a regular basis in order to be ready in case any new fires start.

There have been a total of 50 wildfires in the Smoky region this year, all of which have been extinguished.
