The Pipestone Creek Dinosaur Initiative Society met last night to talk about the next steps in getting the Phillip J Currie Museum built.

With final numbers from last Saturday's Dino Country Ball coming in just over $230,000, they're still about $12 million short of the $30 million they need to build the museum.

City councillor Kevin O'Toole says some potential sponsors have stepped up since the provincial government said they would lend a 10 million dollar hand to the project.

"Some of the supporters that had said to us 'When you show us you're going to get more money from the governments we'll be in there like a dirty shirt.' And our executive director made a few phone calls and the people that promised us the support are giving us that support noww that the provincial government's in."

O'Toole says even though the federal government has made it clear that there is no money, PCDI is not going to stop pushing the government.

He adds that they could probably start construction of the building this year, but they decided to wait until they know they have all the money for it.
